Dark Matter

Art can be a tool to break a biased and fictitious perspective on life.

In dark matter, a spectator is confronted with black glistening painting, but upon closer inspection somber hues of lilac and periwinkle blue begin to emanate from the painting. The detail of the painting appear as woven entanglement of minuscule strings that closely resemble descriptions of dark matter and energy.

The translucent, mirrored surface is reflective so a spectator is forced to accept the duplication of themselves or maneuver around it to see the underlying beauty of the painting. The act of viewing this piece is a direct manifestation of the process that is necessary for transcendent thought.

I am calling attention to what is not directly observable and hard for us to comprehend, especially if we are not willing to question the accuracy of our sensory inputs. This piece accentuates the value of curiosity, the present moment, and the importance of an observer in a subjective universe.
